Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care as the Charge Nurse at Unity Health Care Department of Corrections Health Center (CDF/CTF), under Nurse Manager supervision. Responsibilities include serving as Charge Nurse at CDF/CTF, participating in management and development of nursing personnel, acting as senior nursing administrative on-site and off-shifts, upholding DC Board of Nursing standards, evaluating nursing staff, coordinating with the Nurse Manager on day/evening/night/weekend shifts, applying research and quality improvement to clinical and management practices, and serving as principal administrator of the methadone clinic/Opiate Treatment Program (CDF charge nurse only). Perform other duties as required, in alignment with policies and standards of Unity Health Care and the Department of Corrections.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing – AAS, Diploma, BSN.
- Licensed or eligibility as an RN in Washington DC.
- Three (3) years of experience as a RN.
- Five (5) years of experience in acute care (i.e., ED, ICU, Med/Surg) and/or ambulatory care
- Two (2) years of Nursing experience as a Charge Nurse.
