Job Summary
Coordinate unit resources and staff levels based on patient needs, both clinically and financially. Perform physical, social, and psychological assessments while evaluating interdisciplinary information to develop individualized care plans. Direct the care team through delegation and collaboration, setting priorities to manage time, supplies, and resources. Mediate conflicts between staff, families, and physicians, enforcing Intermountain policies to ensure safety and compliance. Activate chain of command or code alerts when necessary to facilitate patient and staff safety. Lead continuous quality improvement efforts and mentor staff to encourage professional growth and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
- Unit Specific Certification as required (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Experience in assigned clinical area
- Mentoring experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Registered Nurses (RNs) hired or promoted into this role must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of their hire or promotion date
- Required to complete Charge Nurse training
