Job Summary

Conduct weekly individual counseling sessions and facilitate relapse prevention groups for minority and low-income women in a residential drug treatment program. Manage a caseload of up to 15 clients by developing treatment plans, conducting ASAM assessments within 72 hours of admission, and implementing daily retention strategies. Provide trauma-responsive care, including crisis management for new admissions and medication-assisted treatment support, while making referrals for medical, psychiatric, and dental needs. Ensure compliance with SAPC and Drug Medi-Cal guidelines through timely documentation within 24 hours and weekly productivity logs. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance client care at JWCH Institute, Inc. in Los Angeles County.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered or Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor: Certification from NCCA-accredited agencies like CADTP and CCAPP, adhering to California Code of Regulations
  • Two years as a registered drug and alcohol counselor, with one year as certified
  • Experience with Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) and Los Angeles County Substance Abuse Prevention Control (SAPC) system
  • Trained in trauma-informed treatment and evidence-based approaches like Matrix, Seeking Safety, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Nurturing Parenting Program
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Recording Systems
  • Skilled in administering ASAM, ASI, and other substance abuse assessment tools
  • Possession of a current NPI and 'C' number
  • Valid California driver's license, proof of insurance, and clean driving record
  • Excellent written, oral, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively within a team structure
  • Maintains current First Aid/CPR Certification, physical exam, and Tuberculosis test results
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Psychology preferred
