Job Summary
Examine patients with breathing-related conditions and conduct diagnostic testing while consulting with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. Perform physiotherapy and other treatments, teach patients medication usage, and deliver responses to ordered therapy per the plan of care. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions, respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance, and draw arterial blood gases. Evaluate respiratory care policies based on patient outcomes and current research, educate patients and families on illness and community resources, and manage respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Disassemble, clean, sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. Licensed in Michigan, NBRC graduate, and certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care are required.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist
- Graduate of NBRC Approved School of Respiratory Therapy
- Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- ACLS, NRP and PALS (Available Upon Hire)
- COVID Vaccination and Annual Influenza Vaccination or Declination
