Job Summary

Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac, electrophysiology, and peripheral vascular procedures in scrub, monitoring, documentation, imaging, and circulating roles. Prepare patients for procedures, interpret electrocardiograms and hemodynamic tracings, and assist with sheath removal, groin management, and intra-aortic balloon pump troubleshooting. Utilize specialized technologies including IVUS, ICE, FFR, and OCT while maintaining accurate procedural documentation and inventory levels. Provide orientation to new specialists and students, perform quality-control activities, and coordinate equipment repairs and instrument transport. Participate in on-call rotations and assist with billing processes and charge audits.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of a scrub technician training program, hospital-based training program, or qualifying post-secondary health science program
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and procedural patient care
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively
  • Ability to participate in an on-call schedule
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One or more years of cardiac technician, cath lab, or scrub technician experience
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) credential
  • Previous Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab experience
  • Experience with IVUS, ICE, FFR, iFR, RFR, or OCT
  • Experience assisting with cardiac device implants
  • Experience with peripheral vascular interventions
  • Previous preceptor or clinical training experience
