Job Summary
Design and deliver individualized behaviour plans for people with disability, ageing Australians, and significantly disadvantaged individuals. Conduct assessments at plan initiation and completion, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes against NDIS goals. Advocate for clients to uphold human rights while providing support and education to clients, carers, and families. Deliver training to teams, manage case files, and maintain accurate records. Build effective relationships with stakeholders and attend meetings. Prepare professional reports for external bodies such as NDIS and Child Safety. Work autonomously with direct supervision from the Director of PBS.
Required Qualifications
- NDIS Core practitioner and above via self-assessment pathway with 2 years experience min
- fully-registered NDIS practitioners
- minimum of two years' experience in the industry
- Well organised, great time managers, self-motivated, and proactive
- Creative problem-solvers and able to be self-reflective
- Passionate, client-focused with high levels of interpersonal skills to build connections
- Empathetic and compassionate
- Ability to assess the needs of clients within a holistic framework
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records
- Effective communication and crisis intervention skills
- Proven ability to engage people and positively influence individuals and outcomes
- Develop and maintain professional networks
- Implement service strategies and evaluate results
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in electronic records and data management tools
- Resilience and the ability to adapt and respond to work demands
- Exceptional organisational skills and time management
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Communicate with individuals in a respectful and age-appropriate manner
- At minimum practitioner NDIS-PBS-ID core level or above
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Behaviour Science, Social Work, Counselling, or related discipline (Bachelor +)
- Registration with a governing body as appropriate
- Right to work in Australia
- NDIS worker Screening check, and a National Police Check
- A valid and unrestricted QLD driver's license
- Access to a roadworthy vehicle
- Must be Located near Brisbane or Ipswich
- Must be able to work flexible hours including 9 days per fortnight
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (ideal but not essential)
- Have a keen passion for neuroscientific approaches
- Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS
- An understanding of the biopsychosocial model
- An understanding of practice behaviour support, evidence-based approaches, and trauma-informed practice is an advantage
- Experience in support/youth work
- Understanding of the Criminal Justice System
- Integration and social inclusion principles in own practice
