Job Summary
Role: Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) in a Springfield Public School District setting. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably at least 60 college credits or an Associate's degree, with BACB certification as an RBT. Candidates should have knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and be capable of developing and evaluating ABA-based programs. Desired skills include working effectively with children and adolescents, understanding diverse disabilities, and strong management, communication, and interpersonal abilities. A mandatory criminal background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status are required. Hourly rate is $33.50, commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and experience with working with children with disabilities, including those with autism, preferred
- At least 60 credits of study at an institute of higher education, or an Associate's degree or a passing score on the ParaPro exam
- Maintain Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and experience in developing and evaluating programs based upon the principles of ABA
- Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents
- Understanding of and familiarity with the characteristics for a wide range of disabilities
- Demonstrated management, communication and interpersonal skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
