Job Summary
Implement individualized behavioral support and small-group interventions aligned with students' IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans to strengthen engagement and functional skills. Respond promptly to crises using approved de-escalation techniques, CPI strategies, and documented behavioral contracts. Maintain accurate documentation of service notes, behavioral data, and incident reports while collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management and review IEP goals. Coach classroom staff on positive behavior strategies and data collection practices to ensure consistent implementation of evidence-based interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in special education, behavioral health or a closely related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining one or more of the following behavioral health credentials: BCBA | BCaBA | RBT | CBHT | CIBH
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in providing behavioral support, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting
- Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's)
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and personalized learning
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail
- Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
