Job Summary
Conduct 1:1 and group ABA therapy for autistic children and teens, ensuring physical safety while teaching play, communication, and academic skills. Deliver assessments, identify IEP goals, and generate data collection systems and progress reports in Central Reach. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, partner schools, and caregivers; provide support for challenging behaviors and supervise interns. Act as a substitute teacher, travel to schools or homes for in-home and telehealth services, and assist with lesson planning and material preparation. Maintain cultural responsiveness and complete all required trainings and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree
- Registered Behavior Technician credential
- 40 hour RBT coursework requirement
- Active CPR and First Aid Training certifications
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass all drug screenings
- Positive can-do attitude and team spirit, aligned in support of ABC of NC's mission, vision, and values
- Must be able to observe and move with children in their natural environments
- Must be able to sit on floor, on ground, and move easily in this capacity
- Must be able to utilize approved non-violent crisis intervention techniques with clients of all ages
- Must be able to lift small children
- Must be able to teach and assist with toileting skills
- Must be able to perform the following gross motor activities: Walking, Climbing, Bending over, Squatting, Running, Carrying
- Must be able to perform the following fine motor activities: Manipulation of teaching materials, Assisting in children's art projects, Using tablets and/or computers, Writing data
- Must be able to speak and hear
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors
- Must be available for subbing and provide campus-wide support
- Must be able to provide in-home 1:1 ABA therapy and telehealth services
- Must be able to provide distance learning for school and preschool programs
- Must be able to serve as school shadow and travel to child's school or peer group
- Must be able to travel to child's home as itinerant teacher
- Must be able to attend and contribute to team meetings/debriefings/workshops
- Must be able to attend annual required abuse risk management training
- Must be able to adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising clients
- Must be able to report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Must be able to follow mandated abuse reporting requirements
- Must be able to attend and/or complete all assigned employee trainings
- Must be able to comply with all ABC of NC policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- College degree
- Bilingual - ideally, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals
- NC Teaching license
