Job Summary
Provide support for assessment, planning, instruction, and documentation of education services for assigned students as directed by the Principal. Align daily practice with the Neurosequential Model and Re-ED philosophy to enable academic, social, emotional, and independence goals. Collaborate with classroom teams to implement inclusive behavioral programming using positive supports and the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model to reduce restraints. Develop, update, and review Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans while ensuring fidelity in implementation. Maintain RBT certification, complete required trainings including CPR and vehicle safety, and participate in IEP meetings and staff development. Perform physical interventions when necessary and assist with student grooming and hygiene. Document data collection and assessments accurately while adhering to BACB standards and state laws.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- RBT certification
- Ability to participate in physical interventions, when necessary, and with fidelity to the methods taught through the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention model
- Ability to participate in therapeutic outdoor education/field trips which may involve hiking, biking, climbing, and swimming
- Ability to use a computer and keyboard (eye-hand coordination and repetitive movements related to keyboarding)
- Ability to move around the classroom/center/community and sit and stand for more than an hour at a time
- Ability to visually and auditorily assess and monitor the mental health status of students safety purposes
- Ability to meet driver eligibility standards and operate an agency leased vehicle
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree
- Appropriate related experience working with children with autism and other developmentally delays
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills
- Utilize good judgment under routine and stressful work conditions
- Work professionally, effectively and collaboratively with others
