Job Summary
Provides a variety of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions to students in a school setting. RBTs may work with individual students and/or small groups of students. Essential duties include assisting the classroom teacher, implementing academic and social programming and strategies, accommodations/modifications per IEP, implementing behavior plans, data collection, promoting social interactions, assisting with living skills as needed, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other duties as assigned with consistent on-time attendance. Work environment is a school setting with students on IEPs; ability to physically support students and lift up to 45 lbs; able to respond to students who are physically unsafe and to use de-escalation procedures as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Technician Certification
- Childcare or working with children in a daycare setting or children/young adults in a school or center-based setting.
- Written language, technology skill and interpersonal communication skill to support communication among team members, with community contacts, school staff and parents is required.
- Associates degree or minimum of 60 college credit hours (classes in education, special education, psychology or a related field)
- Successful completion of ParaPro Assessment may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Bachelors degree is education, special education, psychology or other related field preferred.
- Classes in education, special education, psychology or related fields is preferred.
