Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician role involves providing onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities using evidence-based methodologies including trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports. Responsibilities include modeling behavioral support strategies, providing feedback on behavior plans, participating in meetings with support networks, and preparing progress reports. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, complete training, and possess strong communication and time management skills. Experience in behavior intervention and knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports are preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in crisis situations
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience implementing individualized behavior interventions
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports

Additional Requirements

  • Employees must cooperate with licensee and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
