Job Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician role involves providing onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities using evidence-based methodologies including trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports. Responsibilities include modeling behavioral support strategies, providing feedback on behavior plans, participating in meetings with support networks, and preparing progress reports. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, complete training, and possess strong communication and time management skills. Experience in behavior intervention and knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants
- Ability to exercise good judgment in crisis situations
- Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience implementing individualized behavior interventions
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
Additional Requirements
- Employees must cooperate with licensee and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
