Job Summary
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) while teaching communication, social, and daily living skills to children with autism. Use evidence-based techniques to reduce interfering behaviors and work one-on-one with clients, requiring comfort with physical demands like lifting up to 50 pounds and moving in various positions. Receive comprehensive training to support children who may be unpredictable or confrontational.
Required Qualifications
- Passionate about helping children with autism
- Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team
- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification and Tuberculosis test (if you haven't had one in the last year)
- Ability to pass a pre employment background check
- Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working as a: Behavioral Technician, Working in some capacity with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver or Home Health Aide
