Job Summary
Registered Behavior Technician provides paraprofessional support under the supervision of a BCBA/BCaBA across classroom and community settings. Responsible for assisting with development, implementation and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans or Behavior Intervention Plans for students with behavioral needs, collecting and summarizing data on observable behavior, implementing PBIS and other evidence-based interventions, working with students individually and in groups, interacting with parents and service providers as needed, and participating in team meetings. Duties include data collection, program modifications to support progress, assisting with preference assessments, reinforcing classroom expectations, and responding to emergencies while adhering to confidentiality and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) must have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- annual demonstration of completion and passing of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). This can be obtained within the first 90 calendar days of job assignment.
- Instructional Assistants must meet No Child Left Behind and District compliance for Paraprofessional Highly Qualified status.
