Job Summary
Complete technical portions of SFHP projects by collaborating with architects and designers from Idaho Falls and other Amentum offices. Deliver design solutions for commercial and industrial facilities from concept through detailed design completion while adhering to established budgets and schedules. Apply knowledge of design trends, construction methodology, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness to ensure compliance with International Building Code (IBC) and specifications. Lead groups of architects and designers to manage technical workstreams, utilizing discipline-specific software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Microstation. Work onsite at the Idaho National Lab daily as needed, navigating construction job sites and adhering to safety protocols near hazardous equipment. Maintain quality procedures based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1 standards and demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Architect
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited Architectural program
- Licensed Architect in Idaho with current registration or licensed in another state with ability to obtain ID licensure within six months
- Experience designing commercial or industrial facilities
- Experience of delivering a range of projects from concept through detailed design completion
- Experience with International Building Code (IBC) and specifications
- Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
- Ability to Follow established Amentum quality procedures and ensures that all work accomplished under their control is accomplished under established quality procedures
- Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
- Competent using discipline specific software such as: Revit, AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.
- Competent using Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work onsite at Idaho national Lab daily if needed
- US citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
- Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
- Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check
- Must be alert to equipment in the field
- Occasional travel
- Ability to work near construction job site equipment when in the field
- Ability to work near hazardous equipment and machinery
- Ability to work near uneven ground
- Exposure to dust, gas or fumes
- Exposure to noise
- Exposure to extremes in temperature or humidity
- Potential work at heights
- Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting
- Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs
- Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation
- Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder
- Occasional need to reach and/or work below the shoulder
- Ability to work in the office is required
Desired Qualifications
- Able to lead groups of architects and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules
- Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations
- Master's degree is a plus
- LEED AP certification
- NCARB registration is preferred but not required
