Job Summary
Assess, coordinate, and deliver nursing care for acute patients in an outpatient oncology infusion center, managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood product administration. Develop individualized plans of care that incorporate psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual factors while fostering collaborative relationships with physicians, families, and support groups. Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and NIOSH/USP 800 guidelines for handling hazardous drugs, ensuring patient privacy and effective communication in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Prioritize assignments and solve complex problems using critical thinking within standardized procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN license evidences completion of a RN program
- RN-Registered Nurse for the state where care is provided
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Oncology Nursing Society- chemotherapy immunotherapy provider card
- Must be able to obtain Oncology Nursing Society- chemotherapy immunotherapy provider card within 30 days
- Oncology Nursing Certification issued by ONCC
- Minimally 2 years of recent oncology experience
- Experience in an outpatient oncology infusion center
- Demonstrated knowledge of oncology nursing practice
- Chemotherapy administration
- Patient assessment
- Treatment-related toxicity management
- Multidisciplinary care coordination in a fast-paced ambulatory setting
- General knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry

- Best practices regarding patient care and privacy
- Changes in local/state/federal regulations
- Written and verbal communications skills

- Ability to prioritize patient care, assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook)
