Regional Water/Wastewater Practice Leader

Job Summary
Direct and oversee quality assurance and control of water and wastewater treatment projects, serving as a technical advisor to ensure compliance with contracts, codes, and regulations. Lead knowledge transfer and mentor junior and mid-level engineers while managing technical coordination on complex, high-risk projects. Oversee the technical delivery of large-scale initiatives in collaboration with certified project managers, supporting marketing phases including proposal preparation and client interviews. Actively engage with Southeast client account teams to expand business development opportunities and maintain a strong regional professional profile through industry participation and publications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of water / wastewater treatment experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study
- Professional Engineer (PE) License and ability to obtain license by reciprocity in other states as needed
- team leadership experience, including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring team members
- technical expertise and experience with water and wastewater treatment projects
- Strong client management skills are essential, particularly in the preparation and development of proposals and interviews
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong relationship management abilities
Desired Qualifications
- over 25 years of experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects at a comparable engineering firm
- A Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study
- demonstrate knowledge of and experience working with local clients in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and/or Alabama
- Active participation in regional or national professional associations
- prior experience in a regional role with a proven ability to collaborate across regional teams
- Experience in progressive design build delivery and DBIA certification
