Regional Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary
Assure volunteer program compliance with agency policy, Medicare, and NHPCOs standards while managing personnel files and placing volunteers in appropriate assignments. Onboard and train new volunteers, assess departmental needs, and develop new programs to ensure service delivery aligns with patient care plans. Manage grievances, provide ongoing support and recognition to boost retention, and participate in budget preparation and quality improvement teams. Maintain HIPAA privacy and report to the Manager of Volunteer Services. Requires a college degree, healthcare experience, and ability to supervise; includes Monday-Friday schedule with up to 60% travel to multiple sites and a DHS background check.
Required Qualifications
- College degree or advanced degree in human services, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of one (1) year - experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services
- Demonstrated ability to work well with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, handle interruptions, and manage projects independently
- Understands hospice philosophy
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
- This is a regional position that may require up to 60% travel to various sites
- Ability to pass DHS background study
