Job Summary
Regional Underwriting Director leads and directs the branch underwriting process, enforces underwriting guidelines, develops and implements branch-specific underwriting procedures, and sets strategies to meet profit and rate goals. The role serves as subject matter expert for the branch, oversees underwriting teams, conducts coaching and performance reviews, hires and recommends salary adjustments, and fosters agency relationships to grow profitable business. Requires strong leadership, risk analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills; must translate technical ideas for business customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Occasional travel and a valid driver’s license are required. Salary ranges vary by geography and depend on education, skills, and experience. Hybrid work arrangement within Milwaukee, WI is available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration or equivalent relevant experience
- Ten years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designation preferred
