Regional Underwriting Director - Contract Surety

Review and analyze underwriting data to build and maintain a profitable book of business within the Midwest territory under minimal supervision. Manage agency relationships through continued customer service and marketing activities while mentoring less experienced underwriters to build organizational value. Establish team objectives and goals aligned with business unit targets, driving profitability, retention, and written premium goals. Make independent decisions within underwriting letter of authority and maintain proper file documentation. Assist in developing annual business goals for assigned agents, analyzing results to maintain accountability of agency partners. Maintain awareness of market trends and emerging threats, clearly articulating the department's value proposition. Participate in training initiatives and strategic annual department planning activities. Requires a valid driver's license and travel; hybrid schedule in the Chicago area.
