Regional Trade Compliance Specialist, APAC

Job Summary

Monitor and ensure adherence to regional and international export control regulations, including US ECCN/EAR and China ECN. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and mitigation strategies while performing daily export control screening and approval processes. Manage and resolve export control cases, oversee import/export documentation across APAC markets, and liaise with freight forwarders and customs brokers to resolve discrepancies. Maintain and update master data in SAP GTS, perform data quality reviews, and process requests from APAC entities. Provide training on export control regulations, develop internal SOPs, and act as a subject matter expert advising on trade compliance matters. Engage with customs authorities on trade rulings, permits, and exemptions across APAC jurisdictions. Based in Singapore with regional travel required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Law, or related studies
  • 3–8 years of relevant trade compliance or export control experience within the APAC region
  • Strong knowledge of APAC export control regulations (e.g., dual-use items, sanctions, and export restrictions)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic and evolving business environments
  • Proficiency in SAP GTS or comparable trade compliance management systems
  • Business-fluent English and Chinese
  • Willingness to travel within the Asia Pacific region

Desired Qualifications

  • ideally gained within an international, product-based organisation in a similar or related industry, operating within a highly matrixed, multi-country environment
  • additional regional language proficiency (Japanese, Bahasa, or Korean)
