Job Summary
Lead regional special education services for PreK–12, prioritizing high school systems (75%) and PreK–8 support (25%). Coordinate high school caseloads, schedules, and service models to ensure efficient delivery. Provide direct coaching on instructional strategies, IEP implementation, and IDEA compliance. Serve as the District Representative at IEP meetings and facilitate Manifestation Determination Reviews. Oversee accurate student counts for staffing and collaborate with registrars on master schedule alignment. Facilitate transition meetings between junior high and high school. Hire, train, and supervise special education instructional assistants. Coordinate state and district testing for students with disabilities. Provide professional learning and technical assistance to site teams. Participate in regional leadership teams for cross-departmental alignment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field
- Valid Arizona Department of Education teaching certificate and SEI endorsement or related certificate
- Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching or related experience
- Occasional evening or weekend commitments
Desired Qualifications
- Arizona Supervisor or Principal Certificate
- Experience in instructional leadership, coaching, and team collaboration
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, state/federal special education law, and compliance requirements
