Job Summary
Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides high-quality speech therapy services across multiple Spectrum School locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Solano County, to support communication and language development. Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, setting family- and school-wide goals, monitoring progress with data-driven assessments, delivering direct speech and language therapy, documenting sessions and maintaining records, collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, mentoring staff, conducting intakes and assessments, ensuring program-wide consistency with best practices, staying current with professional development, and traveling regularly between assigned Spectrum School locations with occasional overnight travel. Requirements include a Master’s degree in speech pathology, active or pending SLP credential, CA driving license, crisis-management certification, and experience delivering speech therapy within special education or related settings. The role emphasizes building partnerships with families and school teams, contributing to program improvements, and supporting student success through evidence-based strategies across K-12 environments. Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a CA state special education instruction credential preferred
- Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in providing speech therapy instruction, guidance and/or support to children, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting
- Well-versed in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and working with children with IEPs
- Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
- Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
