Job Summary
Regional Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct and evidence-based speech-language therapy across Spectrum School locations in Southern California. Responsibilities include evaluating students to determine service needs, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, setting collaborative goals with families and educators, monitoring progress with data-driven assessments, delivering direct therapy to improve communication, documenting sessions and maintaining records, coordinating with families and school teams, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, mentoring staff, conducting clinical assessments, ensuring program quality and adherence to regulatory standards, and traveling between assigned school locations with occasional overnight travel. Qualifications require a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active or in-process SLP licensure, CA driver’s license, crisis management training certification, and experience in special education and IEPs; strong skills in collaboration, communication, data-based decision making, and knowledge of technologies used in education; location includes Southern California (Orange, Buena Park, Chino Hills) with on-site responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential
- CA state driver’s license or ability to obtain
- Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification
- Prior experience or knowledge in providing speech therapy instruction, guidance and/or support to children in alternative/special education settings
- Well-versed in special education services, data-based decision making, IEPs
- Experience with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and related disabilities
- Proficiency in data-based progress monitoring and collaboration with families and educators
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of technology including Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
- Travel between multiple school locations and occasional overnight travel
