Regional Service Technician

Job Summary

Prepare apartments for occupancy by performing painting, drywall repair, trash removal, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical fixes. Independently complete system repairs on HVAC, appliances, and pools while maintaining chemical logs and grounds maintenance. Execute daily service requests for residents with minimal supervision, accompany vendors to units, and distribute resident correspondence. Participate in on-call rotations and property improvements, utilizing Weidner apps and a personal vehicle to travel between assigned properties. Maintain market-ready standards across common areas and amenities while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience
  • 3-5 years of painting and drywall repairs
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds/36.3 kg
  • Ability to climb ladders and climb multiple flights of stairs at a time
  • Ability to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds/90.7 kg
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to be on feet constantly for entire work shift
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Detail oriented
  • Well organized
  • Prompt, regular attendance
  • Willing and able to be assigned to other Weidner properties as needed
  • Must agree to a criminal background check
  • Must sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
  • Must have access to personal vehicle and/or reliable transportation
  • Driver's license, vehicle and vehicle insurance must be valid and unexpired
  • Must utilize Weidner issued cell phone and specified apps
  • Must use personal vehicle to go between properties
  • Must take part in the on-call rotation
  • Must comply with all Fair Housing, local, state/province, and federal laws

  • Comply with all Weidner policies and procedures
  • Wear company dress code / uniform & maintain professional appearance
  • Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
  • Ability to work outside of normal scheduled hours as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • HVAC, CPO, EPA certification
  • Industry designations, CAMT
  • Experienced in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Yardi and Paycom experience
  • Willing and able to learn new software programs
