Job Summary
Service Sales Manager to drive service commercial business across West1 regions, focusing on contract renewals, warranty conversions, spares sales, and on-call service. Manage and grow the service contract portfolio, develop strategies to convert warranty customers, promote and sell on-call service offerings, handle key customer accounts, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives. Requires a Science/Engineering background with sales or business-development experience, strong Excel/data-analytic skills, excellent communication, and willingness to travel (40-50%). Based in Mumbai with in-person customer visits.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Science/Engineering graduate preferred; MBA or relevant business qualification is a plus
- 8-10 years of experience in service sales, business development, or commercial roles, preferably in scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or life sciences industry
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth
- Experience in managing large customer base
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Hindi and regional languages advantageous
- Strong business acumen with ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage and influence at all levels, from technical users to C-suite executives
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to close complex deals
- Sales-driven approach; motivated by targets and business outcomes
- Strategic thinking combined with execution excellence
- Ability to work independently and manage time to prioritize tasks
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Willingness to travel frequently (40-50%)
- Preferred experience with CMD products (Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry) or related analytical instruments
- Background in contract management and warranty programs
- Experience in data analytics and business intelligence
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or academic customer segments
