Job Summary
Own and execute the regional sales strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and gross margin objectives for the West Coast territory. Manage and coach a network of manufacturer's representative firms by setting expectations, tracking performance, and providing ongoing training. Influence project and master specifications by calling on consulting engineering firms, municipalities, and utilities to develop profitable growth aligned with company pricing. Lead product presentations, technical training sessions, and front-line application engineering support in coordination with internal resources. Identify, qualify, and manage sales opportunities from specification through award while maintaining accurate forecasts and activity tracking in Salesforce. Collaborate with inside sales to develop competitive project quotations and monitor competitive activity to provide actionable feedback. Represent the company at industry events as required. Requires 5+ years of sales experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry, extensive travel (approximately 50%), and proficiency with CRM systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of sales or technical sales experience in the municipal water and/or wastewater industry
- Proven experience working with or managing manufacturer's representative firms
- Strong understanding of the municipal project lifecycle, including specification, bidding, and procurement processes
- Ability to influence specifications and build credibility with consulting engineers
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 50%)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a hands-on leadership approach
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Detail-oriented and results-driven, with a focus on accuracy, profitability, and organization
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer-focused skills
- Experience with software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
