Job Summary

Lead distributor partnerships and regional account management in Northern California by conducting frequent in-market visits, coaching sales teams, and executing work-withs. Drive annual volume, NSV, and depletion goals through hands-on field leadership, pricing accuracy, and merchandising compliance. Manage state-level depletions, inventory health, and discretionary budget while facilitating monthly performance reviews and quarterly business reviews with distributor leadership. Translate market insights into actionable strategies for on- and off-premise growth, ensuring full adherence to company standards and compliance expectations. Present in the market 70%-80% of the time with approximately 10%-15% overnight travel required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or related field
  • Minimum five years progressive sales experience in wine and spirits, beverage alcohol (or relevant CPG) industry
  • Equivalent combination education/experience to the above
  • Proven success in alcohol beverage industry sales and account management
  • Extensive knowledge of on- and off-premise wine channels and trade
  • Knowledge and passion for both luxury/premium and commercial wines
  • Excitement for selling a wide spectrum of price points and formats
  • Proven field leadership mindset
  • Ability to drive execution through influence rather than authority
  • Strong knowledge of off-premise and chain execution levers (pricing, promotions, merchandising)
  • Comfort leading account strategies
  • Practical selling experience in food and beverage industry
  • Meaningful distributor management exposure
  • Thorough knowledge of wine principles
  • Knowledge of winegrowing/making process
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairing
  • Related industry knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communicator
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highest level of integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to be insured
  • Willingness to spend significant time traveling in-market
  • Overnight travel approximately 10% - 15% of time
  • Weekend and evening work as required
  • Travel throughout region required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull up to 30 lbs on a frequent basis
  • Ability to frequently sit and work at a desk for long periods of time
  • Ability to frequently walk
  • Ability to occasionally stand, reach outward and upward
  • Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend
  • Hand and finger dexterity for keyboarding
