Job Summary
Regional Sales Manager in Abbott Molecular's Midwest region leads a team of 5 sales professionals, developing and executing an annual strategic plan to meet or exceed sales and margin commitments, driving new business and maintaining accounts. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities, building customer relationships with stakeholders including C-suite and laboratory leadership, coaching and mentoring sales staff, managing P&L, synthesizing customer and market insights, and partnering with internal teams to meet contractual obligations. Regular field travel to assess opportunities and foster long-term partnerships is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Masters Degree (± 18 years)
- 7+ years experience in sales or related field
- Background of success in value-based solution-selling; ability to influence and lead with and without direct authority
- Executive-level communication and financial acumen; strong negotiation skills
- Public speaking experience, often for high-level executives
- Ability to form and develop long-term strategic, interpersonal, professional senior-level relationships
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience in sales and/or multi-stakeholder environment developing and selling customized solutions to executive-level/C-suite executives
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing sales teams
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder contracts and negotiations
- Proven track record in gaining market share or renewing/defending existing business
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- MBA or other graduate degree is a plus
- Strong business planning, attention to detail, CRM and Microsoft Office skills
