Job Summary
Regional Quality Control Manager leads QC for the region, overseeing pre-construction project review, technical assistance on quality issues (submittals, RFIs), and compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities include contract/scope/specification review, pre-construction mix design review with Corporate Quality Director and suppliers, project safety compliance, regional quality compliance, periodic quality reviews, and coordinating with project teams and GC’s. The role involves developing solutions to quality issues, coordinating with CSI Operations on manpower/resources, and supporting/mentoring project quality staff within the region. Key skills include clear written and verbal communication, precise reporting, presentations, team leadership, problem-solving, attention to detail, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to walk job sites and navigate ladders/scaffolding. Education/experience notes emphasize 5+ years in concrete construction, a bachelor's degree in construction-related field is recommended, and strong knowledge of construction principles, concrete practices, and relevant codes (ACI, PCI, TCA). The incumbent should be energetic, entrepreneurial, and capable of working independently or in a team, while effectively leading and coordinating across departments to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with concrete construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction management, Engineering or other construction related field recommended
- Strong knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Strong technical knowledge of concrete production, testing and placement practices
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes (ACI, PCI, TCA)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with adaptability and flexibility
- Experience leading successful project teams and maintaining relationships with external entities
- Energetic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated with ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi-floor scaffolding
- Leadership competencies including adaptability, teamwork, creativity, and results
