Regional Quality Assurance & Education Nurse - State Veterans Homes

Job Summary

Oversee clinical quality improvement initiatives and coordinate education programs across multiple long-term care facilities. Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, conduct routine audits for MDS, infection control, and medication management, and ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations. Lead mock surveys, develop Plans of Correction, and track Quality Measures and Five-Star data to support survey readiness. Deliver clinical education for nursing staff and leadership, conduct skills validation, and assist in leadership development. Participate in QAPI initiatives to reduce rehospitalizations, infection rates, and falls while serving as a clinical resource for Directors of Nursing. Requires an active RN license, 3–5 years of long-term care experience, and ability to travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Minimum 3–5 years of long-term care experience
  • Ability to travel
  • Active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

Desired Qualifications

  • Multi-state preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in nursing leadership (DON, ADON, QA, Clinical Education or regional role preferred)
  • Infection Preventionist Certification (IP) preferred
  • Wound Care Certification preferred
  • QAPI training or certification preferred
