Regional Project Management Office Lead

Job Summary
Lead and govern the regional project management practice, driving improvements in maturity and effectiveness for Project Directors and Managers. Establish KPIs to reduce project losses and advance PM standards while managing PD and PM roster oversight. Provide leadership for key processes including performance assessments, tender reviews, and portfolio reviews with Business Group Leaders and the Regional General Manager. Actively lead or support delivery of complex, high-profile projects across Western Canada, contributing to successful outcomes and strengthening regional bench depth. Balance approximately 50% PMO leadership responsibilities with 50% direct project delivery as a Project Manager or Director. Collaborate with the Americas PMO Lead to ensure alignment with global strategies and maintain accountability for regional PMO performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering or science
- 10+ years of strong project and client management experience with an engineering consulting firm
- Proven experience in project delivery for environmental or engineering design across diverse markets/sectors, including public and private clients
- Familiarity with various delivery models (e.g. Consulting Assignments, Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and EPCM)
- Experience in one or more of GHD's major markets: Water, Energy and Resources, Environment, Property and Buildings, and Transportation
- Proven leadership and development of project management competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- This role can be based in either Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton
- This position reports to the Americas Project Management Office Lead
- dotted line accountability to the Regional General Manager (RGM)
- approximately 50% dedicated to the responsibilities outlined below
- 50% of the RPMOL time dedicated to chargeable project work
- Join us in the office three days a week
