Job Summary
Execute regional produce sourcing plans and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost competitiveness and high service levels. Lead a team of Divisional Buyers, overseeing performance appraisals and daily workload delegation while governing buying parameters to minimize spoilage and liquidation. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to drive category growth objectives and resolve quality or service issues with suppliers. Maintain real-time awareness of regional market conditions to proactively adjust sourcing strategies and validate new product requirements. Commute to Delta DC at least four days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive produce procurement experience
- Product knowledge, including regional terminal buying and source-region dynamics
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Manage by influence across regional departments
- Proficient in data analytics (SAP, AR, Microstrategy)
- Advanced knowledge of perishable supply chain principles
- Regional freight networks
- Inventory flow optimization
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
