Job Summary
Lead Educator Development efforts to implement PASL in the principal certification program practicum. Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis concerning PASL and the consequential implementation of performance-based assessments as directed by the TEA. Collaborate with the Regional Coordinator II - Advanced Certification Support, the Educator Certification Specialist, and district personnel to support aspiring principals’ success in the practicum and on PASL field assessments. Serve as the primary point of contact for principal certification candidates, mentors, and school-based administrators; maintain current knowledge of state certification regulations and ensure TAC compliance. Address field-based issues with responsiveness; execute practicum components with candidate support and field supervision; assist with program approval and standard certificates. Maintain effective communication with program participants, instructors, and staff regarding practicum requirements for certification, including PASL; support integration of PASL into coursework and data management; oversee eligibility determinations for PASL approval; coach participants through PASL resubmission and condition codes; provide PASL data reporting support and ensure program performance reporting to TEA and Region 4 ESC leadership. Maintain accreditation status for Region 4 ESC’s educator preparation programs and participate in advisory meetings; address participant issues; participate in related audits, compliance, and professional development to sustain evidence-based practices in the principal certification practicum.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree
- Certification: Texas teaching certificate
- Principal or Mid-Management certificate
- One year of experience as an assistant principal or principal in a traditional district/charter school
- Experience mentoring or coaching school leaders
- Exemplary written and oral communication skills
