Job Summary
Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs and initiate applications bedside when possible. Cover facilities within an assigned region when representatives are out of the office, including float to different locations for coverage. Legibly record patient information on screening sheets and log account details in the Onsite Reporting Tool. Conduct outside field work as required, including patient home visits to screen for State, County, and Federal program eligibility. Maintain positive relationships with hospital staff and inform designated employees of available assistance. Work Saturdays through Tuesdays from 8am to 6:30pm with travel to multiple local facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple local facilities as needed
- Basic personal computer skills
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with coworkers, patients, outside agencies and hospital employees
- Ability to present oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times
- Ability to stay on task with little or no supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and creativity in fulfilling job responsibilities
- Possess excellent organization skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy work environment
- Reliability of task completion and follow-up
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years' experience with medical billing, medical coding, eligibility (government or hospital) or other pertinent medical experience
