Job Summary
Lead overall operation and performance of multiple wind facilities within the region, driving safety culture and providing strategic direction to Site Managers and field teams. Oversee outage planning, execution, and performance to maximize availability, while conducting regular site visits, operational reviews, and safety observations. Manage regional Balance of Plant strategy for substations, transmission lines, and civil infrastructure, including maintenance planning, switching activities, and vegetation management. Develop and execute O&M and capital budgets, ensuring assets meet production and financial targets through vendor performance monitoring and contract compliance. Champion regulatory adherence, including NERC requirements, lead incident investigations, and serve as the primary interface with landowners, regulators, and local communities. Manage a geographically dispersed team of Site Managers and field personnel, overseeing workforce planning, training, and succession development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in renewable energy, power generation, or industrial operations
- Experience managing multiple sites or complex operational portfolios
- Direct experience in wind operations and maintenance (O&M)
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with NERC-regulated assets and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with work computer based maintenance management systems (e.g., Maintainly, Maximo), contractor oversight, and capital project execution
- Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
- Demonstrated leadership of geographically dispersed teams
- Regular travel required across assigned region (~30–50%)
