Job Summary
Manage a regional team within the Logistics division, supervising personnel across Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and New Jersey. Assure all freight gets covered timely according to internal policy while supporting the pricing process for the region. Execute growth strategies for the region and participate in carrier and customer visits to build long-term relationships. Handle expense management, rate negotiation, and talent development to ensure financial performance and retention of top talent. Work full-time on-site at the warehouse and client locations, with up to 50% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation or Logistics preferred
- Minimum of 7-10 years of logistics experience
- Currently in the role of a multi-unit field leader 3-5 years
- Third party capacity 7-10 years / White Glove Residential Delivery experience
- Strong background in management or supervisory experience of 7-10 years or more
- Road Warrior up to 50% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Werner systems to support the business
- Knowledge of market freight rates associated with the region
- Experience with Profit and Loss Accountability preferred
- Rate negotiation skills
- Strong management skills
- Assure office adheres to using only Werner qualified carriers and /or employee 26 ft. box delivery drivers
