Job Summary
Regional Medical Director provides therapy and/or medication management to identify, diagnose, and treat patients under their care. Deliver clinical services at or above standard practice within the community, conduct diagnostic assessments using the bio-psycho-social model, identify psychiatric conditions per DSM-5, develop comprehensive treatment plans through multidisciplinary collaboration, initiate and manage psychopharmacologic treatments, order and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic results, coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required, and provide psychoeducation to patients and families as appropriate. Work collaboratively with medical assistants to optimize clinical workflow. The role involves leading clinical services across multiple outpatient clinics within Arizona, overseeing supervision of clinics or similar sized organizations, and advancing growth opportunities, research, and continuing education while leveraging advanced time-saving technology and an AI-supported behavioral-health focused EHR. The position emphasizes clinician-led care, autonomy in clinical decision-making, and a strong commitment to high-quality patient outcomes and integrity in medical ethics; supported by a diverse multidisciplinary team including therapists, psychiatrists, psychiatric NPs/PAs, psychologists, TMS specialists, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine required
- Five years of professional experience in mental health required
- Three years of professional experience in clinical supervision, including experience leading clinics or similar sized organizations
- Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skills in working with the mentally ill population, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skills in diagnosis and assessment
- Appropriate professional registration/certification by state/national authority required
