Job Summary
Regional MDS Nurse Coordinator provides MDS coverage and support to multiple skilled nursing facilities across Eastern Massachusetts (Boston area, South Shore, North Shore) on a flexible per diem schedule. Responsibilities include completing and reviewing MDS assessments for accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance; assisting centers with Medicare PPS and PDPM processes; supporting interdisciplinary care plan development; conducting MDS audits and identifying opportunities for reimbursement optimization; mentoring and educating facility MDS staff and nursing leadership; and helping facilities maintain state and federal regulatory compliance. Requires active MA RN or LPN license, 2+ years MDS experience, knowledge of RAI/MDS 3.0/PDPM/OBRA, and ability to travel within Eastern Massachusetts; offers a flexible weekday schedule and per diem hours with autonomy and variety.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Massachusetts RN or LPN license
- Minimum of 2 years of MDS experience in a skilled nursing facility
- Strong working knowledge of RAI, MDS 3.0, Medicare PPS, PDPM, OBRA, and care planning requirements
- Ability to travel throughout Eastern Massachusetts
