Job Summary
Regional MDS Consultant responsible for providing support and training to MDS Coordinators to ensure proper assessment and treatment of residents in nursing homes in accordance with state and federal standards. Conduct monthly Regional MDS meetings for training and CMI development; assist facilities with clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies; monitor RAC audits from Insurance, State, or CMS; develop regional tracking and reporting for CMS 5-star metrics; help facilities improve 5-star ratings; oversee the MDS department and travel to facilities to train clinical staff; participate in regional meetings and provide clinical insight; assist with clinical risk management and with lawsuits or regulatory documents as needed; engage in supervision of regional MDS staff; support organization-wide diversity and inclusion efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent Accredited Nursing Program Degree
- Active Professional Nursing License in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals
- Ability to train and provide guidance to clinical staff
- Strong organizational and supervisory abilities
- Travel required (auto/air)
