Job Summary
Conduct site inspections at various construction stages to verify compliance with Building Regulations and review structural, architectural, and mechanical designs. Act as Registered Building Inspector and lead office operations by supervising lower-class RBIs and graduate trainees, interpreting national and local building regulations, and overseeing fair work distribution. Manage business development and office commercial performance by undertaking fee quoting, handling enquiries, and supporting clients with legislative updates. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, conduct performance reviews with team members, and serve as the first line of escalation for formal complaints. This hybrid role requires being in the office at least three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Professional qualification and regulatory registration with leadership capability
- Membership of RICS, CABE or equivalent
- Qualified by suitable experience
- CPD requirements met
- Registration as an RBI
- Proven ability to lead and mentor team members
- Ability to analyse complex issues
- Ability to develop and implement suitable solutions
- Ability to identify opportunities to optimize operations and reduce inefficiencies
- Ability to maintain technical knowledge by keeping up to date with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices
- Strong interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build relationships with clients
- Ability to deliver excellent client care
- Ability to promote open communication
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of large project teams
- Commercial acumen
