Job Summary
Manage state-level depletions, KPIs, and distributor targets while conducting monthly performance reviews with key distributor teams. Build and execute state-level road maps, monitor pricing accuracy and inventory health, and ensure district manager performance aligns with regional strategy. Present in the market 60-70% of the time to cultivate relationships with key account buyers, facilitate quarterly business reviews, and drive regional/local chain development. Accountable for budget management, discretionary spending requests, and ensuring full adherence to company standards and compliance expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or related field
- Minimum five years progressive sales experience in wine and spirits, beverage alcohol (or relevant CPG) industry
- Equivalent combination education/experience to the above
- Proven success in alcohol beverage industry sales and account management
- Extensive knowledge of on- and off-premise wine channels and trade
- Knowledge and passion for both luxury/premium and commercial wines
- Excitement for selling a wide spectrum of price points and formats
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing distributor partnerships
- Track record of mentoring and developing sales talent
- Strong knowledge of off-premise and chain execution levers (pricing, promotions, merchandising)
- Comfort leading account strategies
- Practical selling experience in food and beverage industry
- Meaningful distributor management exposure
- Thorough knowledge and demonstration of wine principles
- Knowledge of winegrowing/making process
- Knowledge of food and wine pairing
- Related industry knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communicator
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highest level of integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to be insured
- Willingness to spend significant time traveling in-market
- Overnight travel approximately 15% - 20% of time
- Weekend and evening work as required
- Travel throughout region required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull up to 30 lbs on a frequent basis
- Ability to frequently sit and work at a desk for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently walk and occasionally stand
- Ability to reach outward and upward
- Ability to climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend
- Hand and finger dexterity for keyboarding
- Ability to frequently work at computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel via air and ground transportation
- Successful completion of criminal background check
- Successful completion of DMV check
- Successful completion of drug screen
- Verification of citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience selling imports and/or organic categories
- Circana/Nielsen information experience
- Wine education or certification
- WSET certification
- CSW certification
- Familiarity with Breakthru Beverage Group
