Job Summary
Diagnose, problem solve, and make repairs across appliances, carpentry, masonry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in rental units, common areas, offices, and grounds. Lead and train other maintenance technicians while completing assigned service requests consistent with company operating procedures. Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and assist the Maintenance Supervisor with preventive maintenance programs, building safety inspections, and annual unit inspections. Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities. Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule. Travel within the Greater Boston territory, including Attleboro, Walpole, Franklin, Stoughton, Fall River, Raynham, and Quincy, with occasional overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
- Ability to travel within assigned territory with occasional overnight stay
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic familiarity with computers and tablets
- Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs
- Ability to speak and understand basic English
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training
- Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT)
