Job Summary
Coordinate volunteer recruitment and act as liaison with local public libraries to extend programs and services. Direct, monitor, and support the operation of the school library/media centers; serve as instructional resource consultant, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure library services support instructional programs for students, including incarcerated populations. Develop and maintain a balanced collection, train incarcerated student library aides and librarian assistants, and advise principals on library needs. Manage inventories, budgets, and unit records; supervise circulation and library procedures. Coordinate volunteer participation, collaborate with agencies and TDCJ, and develop programs that promote job or life skills. Design and deliver campus- and district-level staff development on library strategies and the use of volunteers; maintain confidentiality and perform duties professionally as part of Windham School District operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Five years full-time librarian, teaching or volunteer recruitment experience
- Texas SBEC Librarian/Learning Resources Specialist/Teaching certificate preferred
- Five years full-time librarian experience
- Experience in a correctional environment preferred
- Ability to work remotely with personal technology as needed
