Job Summary
Lead regional strategy and execution for Southern California land development by translating sector plans into actionable initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, and securing new business. Manage a high-performing team of Area and Discipline Leads, mentor talent, and drive succession planning while serving as the primary contact for key regional clients. Provide oversight on project execution, lead multiple large projects, and navigate complex regulatory challenges to ensure quality delivery. Monitor regional budgets, revenue, and operating margins, implementing corrective actions to meet utilization and profitability KPIs. Collaborate with Business Development on go-to-market strategies and represent the firm at industry events. Report directly to the Land Development Practice Lead with a requirement to travel to offices and project sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in Land Development design
- At least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects
- Strong understanding of regional market conditions, client needs, and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Highly organized, analytical, and results oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment
- Willingness to travel as needed to support regional offices, project sites, or client engagements
- Able to work cooperatively with leadership and other key stakeholders within BKF
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field
