Job Summary
Regional Lead – Rail Engineer to provide regional leadership for Horrocks' rail projects, overseeing planning, design, coordination, and delivery of a broad range of rail initiatives (including industry track, terminals, yards, and sidings) across the United States. The role entails acting as a senior technical resource for rail design, mentoring engineers and designers, building and maintaining client relationships, supporting business development and proposals, ensuring QA/QC across project delivery, coordinating with federal/state/local agencies, and guiding staffing/resource planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (or related field), 10+ years of rail/railroad infrastructure experience, a PE license, and demonstrated leadership in multi-office projects with strong communication and organizational skills. Travel to project sites and industry events is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant rail/railroad infrastructure experience
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience in client relationship management and business development
- Strong knowledge of track design, at-grade crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings
- CAD proficiency and standard engineering software
- Ability to travel regionally and work across multiple offices
