Regional IT Manager - State Veterans Homes

Job Summary
Oversee IT infrastructure and support services across multiple long-term care facilities, ensuring high availability of Electronic Health Record systems and regulatory compliance with HIPAA. Manage vendor relationships for EHR and billing providers, coordinate system upgrades, and maintain disaster recovery plans while supervising IT staff or managed service providers. Provide tier-2/3 technical support, conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, and travel 40–70% to facilities for installations and troubleshooting. Assist with annual budgeting, telehealth implementation, and system integrations between clinical and administrative functions. This role supports the Regional IT Manager in aligning technology strategy with operational goals for state veterans homes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of IT experience
- Ability to travel within assigned region
- Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs), Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and cloud systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA security requirements
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification (preferred)
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification (preferred)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification (preferred)
- Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) certification (preferred)
- Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude
