Job Summary
Develop and maintain corporate health, safety, and environmental policies while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state regulations. Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and field observations to drive a proactive safety culture, leading training programs on confined space, excavation, and hazard communication. Manage incident investigations for injuries, vehicle accidents, and environmental incidents, serving as the primary liaison with insurance carriers and legal counsel for workers' compensation, auto, and general liability claims from initial report through closure. Track safety metrics, analyze trends to reduce losses, and participate in claim reviews or depositions as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of HSE experience in heavy civil or trenchless construction
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations
- Strong knowledge of managing workers' compensation and liability claims
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to project sites
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred
