Job Summary
Manage a portfolio of 500-1,000 potential donors across the West Coast, qualifying prospects primarily through in-person visits and modern sales enablement methods like email, video conferencing, and phone. Engage and build relationships with individuals to support the OSU Foundation's fundraising goals, conducting 40-50 solicitations annually targeting $1,000 to $49,999 gifts. Secure 15-25 gifts within this range and refer qualified prospects to Donor Experience Officers for long-term cultivation. Collaborate with Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement teams to help build the volunteer pipeline while connecting donors to regional events and student mentoring opportunities. Travel frequently from Corvallis to Washington, Oregon, and California, performing administrative duties including contact reports and coordinating engagement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of two years of experience in development, communications, sales, or another related field
- Experience in higher education
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel by varying modes of transportation
- Proven track record of success to mid-level to major gift cultivation and solicitation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to articulate a strong and compelling case for support
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to listen to donor and determine what best engagement plan
- Strategic, hardworking, and able to work with a high degree of flexibility in a highly-collaborative, fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
