Job Summary
Conduct counter and route sales by performing face-to-face customer interactions, answering phone calls, handling complaints, and retrieving stock to load and unload cylinders. Advise customers on welding equipment, materials, and procedures while operating forklifts and pallet jacks to deliver hard goods and compressed gases. Safely load, unload, and retrieve empty cylinders in compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, maintaining vehicles and keeping the truck clean. Possess a Class B CDL with HazMat, airbrakes, and tanker endorsements, and maintain a valid driver's license. Lift 25–75 lbs routinely and 100+ lbs occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Class B CDL with HazMat, airbrakes, and tanker endorsement
- Must be at least 21 years-old
- Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for truck drivers
- Must maintain the appropriate drivers' license and endorsements
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
- Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
- Ability to perform functions during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities. Frequent bending also required.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years' experience working in the welding industry preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience handling compressed gases preferred
- Customer service or sales experience preferred
- Excellent oral communication skills
